Abstract EN

The paper aimed to find out the impact of using Roundhouse Diagram and Strategy to improve achievement and development of the attitudes towards mathematics among ninth grade students.

The research followed the quasi-experimental approach, A cluster sample consisting of (67) students was selected.

They were divided into two groups: (35) students in the control group studied using normal strategy and (32) students in the experimental group, studied using Roundhouse Strategy.

A unit of the real numbers in accordance to the Roundhouse Strategy was prepared and taught to the experimental group.

Moreover, an achievement test and instruments to measure of the attitudes towards mathematics were prepared and administered.

The results revealed that there are differences in the mean scores of the students on the achievement test in favor of the experimental group.

The size of the impact of using Roundhouse Strategy was (moderate).

In addition, the results revealed that there are differences in the mean scores of the students on the scale of attitudes towards mathematics and in favor of the experimental group.

The size of the impact of using Roundhouse Strategy was (moderate) and students’ attitudes towards mathematics came at a moderate degree in the following aspects: Students do not have the desire to acquire new mathematical skills and concepts in mathematics.

They also do not have the desire to develop their mental mathematical skills.

In light of these results some conclusions, recommendations were presented
