Abstract EN

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of a proposed educational program based on de Bono’s theory to develop lateral thinking skills, self-organizing learning and creative problem solving for eighth graders in Gaza.

To achieve the study objectives, a sample consisting of (80) eighth grade female students was deliberately chosen from Mustafa Hafez Elementary Girls School and divided into two groups: an experimental group numbering (40) female students, and a control group of (40) female students, The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are the following: There are statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.01) between the average scores of the lateral thinking post-test for students of the experimental group who studied using the proposed educational program based on de Bono’s theory, and the average scores of students of the control group who studied in the ordinary way, in favor of the experimental group, The proposed educational program based on de Bono's theory achieved great effectiveness in developing lateral thinking skills, as Blake’s gain factor of the test’s total score had an average of (1.25).
