The study aimed to analyze the content of the chemistry books for the secondary stage according of the dimensions of sustainable development.

The researcher used the analytical descriptive approach.

The study sample consisted of the chemistry books for the tenth and eleventh grades which are the three textbooks prescribed for the academic year (2020-2021).In order to achieve the aim of the study, a list of the three dimensions of sustainable development (social – environmental – economic) was built to be included in the content of chemistry books for the tenth and eleventh grades, as the list consisted in its initial form of (57) sub-issues distributed among the three dimensions.

After presenting the list to a group of specialized referees, the list consisted in its final form of (54) sub- issues.

Then the researcher analyzed the content of chemistry books in the light of the list that had been built.

Then the validity and reliability of the analysis was verified, and frequencies and percentages were used as statistical methods in the study.

The results of the study showed that the social dimension achieved the highest availability at (73.7%) for the tenth grade, and at (76.6%) for eleventh grade, followed by the environmental dimension at (19.4%) for the tenth grade, and at (21.8%) for the eleventh grade, then the economic dimension at (6.7%) for the tenth grade, at a rate of (1.4%) for the eleventh grade.There fore, the study recommends taking into account the balance, sequencing and consistency in the ratios of the inclusion of the dimensions of sustainable development and its sub-issues.

It is also recommended to pay attention to enriching the content of chemistry books for the secondary stage with neglected sub-issues of the dimensions of sustainable development.
