Governments, societies and manufacturing enterprises all over the world seek to promote eco-friendly programmes that are broadly known as green innovations.

They gained the attention of researchers due to standing as contemporary entrance that lead to progress and continuity.

Additionally, they are amongst the strategic tools that ensure a better environmental performance.

In light of this, the current study aims at determining the role of green innovations in the realisation of a better environmental performance.

This research follows a descriptive analytical design as it suits best the investigated topic.

Results show that indeed green innovations ameliorate the environmental performance of the investigated enterprises, particularly through the invention of green products and green processes.

The study recommends mainly that the use of green innovations is crucial for the attainment of a sustainable environmental performance either through following green processes or products.
