Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the effect of different navigation pattern (list, linear) on developing inductive reasoning thinking skills of sixth graders in science in the light of programmed education.

The study sample consisted of (29) students from Al-Munira Private School.

The sample of the study was divided into two groups randomly.

The first group studied the program in linear navigation pattern, and the second group studied the program with the list navigation pattern.

The researcher used two instruments: the educational program and the inductive reasoning thinking skills test.

The findings of this study showed that students using the linear navigation pattern performed significantly better in inductive reasoning thinking skills than students using list navigation pattern.

And the results also showed that the program significantly affected according to the ETA square factor.

In the light of the results of the study, the researcher recommends encouraging educational institutions and ministries to produce educational programs that rely on linear navigation of the science curricula for all academic stages and classes, and conducting similar studies to include other educational stages, and re-conducting the study to include larger samples and different educational areas to be able to generalize the results studying.
