Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigating the scope of including the exercises of the mathematics books of processes standards in elementary stage in Jordan, and the degree to which these standards are distributed in the exercises of mathematics books scheduled for students of the first and fourth grades for the academic year 2019/2020.

The study sample consisted of the exercises of the four mathematics books for the first and fourth grades, and the exercises were chosen as the unit of analysis.

The results of the study showed that the exercises of the four mathematics books for the first and fourth basic grades included criteria for mathematical processes in proportions arranged in descending order as follows: Mathematical representation (25.9%), mathematical communication (22.8%), thinking (18.2%), connection (17.6%), and problem solving (15.5%).

These percentages are distributed in a way that disrupts its expected balance.
