The study aimed to reveal the level of availability of creative thinking skills in the exercises of the Arabic language textbook for the 12th grade in Palestine.
The study used the descriptive analytical methodology.
The study population and sample was from the Arabic language textbook for two semesters that is taught for the twelfth grade for the academic year 2020/2021 AD.
The instrument of study was a content analysis card prepared by the researcher.
The tool included (4) basic skills from which there were (22) minor indicators.
The results of the study showed a decrease in the level of availability of creative thinking skills in the activities of the Arabic language textbook as they all came in the weak level identified by the study from (0 – 40%) The availability ratios came in order as follows: fluency skill got first rank with a frequency (169) and a percentage (37.64), and the flexibility skill came in second place with the number of frequencies (138) and a percentage (30.47).
The verbosity skill got the third rank with a number of frequencies (93) and a percentage (20.71), while the originality skill ranked the last one with the number of frequencies (49) and a percentage (10.91).
The study recommended the ministry of Education to direct the authors and its developers of the Arabic language textbook for the twelfth grade to pay a considerable concern in including creative thinking skills in the activities.
