Abstract EN

This study aimed to recognize the concept of education for sustainable development, and to identify the most significant requirements for achieving that through kindergartens in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The descriptive analytic approach was used to accomplish the objectives of the study by collecting data based on survey of a cohort of (150) faculty members in colleges of Education in West Riyadh, with (120) respondents.

The study revealed a significant correlation between education and sustainable development, and it verified that the relative weight of the requirements of the foundations of sustainable development reached (81.92%), and the relative weight of the basic requirements of sustainable development reached (78%).

The relative weight of the objectives of sustainable development was (77.52%).

The results also indicated that there were no differences between the averages of the respondents' responses about the requirements for kindergarten achievements of sustainable development that can be attributed to the gender variable.

In light of the results of this study, the researcher recommended reviewing the structures and curricula of kindergartens to embrace activities and programs that endeavor realization, and value the implementation of an educational strategy for sustainable development.
