Abstract EN

The research aims at identifying the degree of the intellectual extremism spread, the ways of overcoming, the correlation between them and the differences in the research sample response according to the variables of sex and family income from Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University students’ perspective.

The sample consisted of (392) students.

A 40-item scale to measure intellectual extremism and an 18-item scale to measure the ways of overcoming were used.

Reliability and validity were tested.

Results indicated that the degree of the intellectual extremism spread was moderate.

The dimensions of the factors were social, religious, economic, academic and political, respectively.

The ways of overcoming degree was moderate.

Significant positive and moderate correlation among the dimensions of the intellectual extremism and the ways of overcoming was found according to (Hopkins, 2002).

A statistically significant difference was found in the degree of intellectual extremism spread attributed to gender; supporting males, and in family income; supporting low income students.

A statistically significant difference was found in the ways of overcoming attributed to sex, supporting females, and to differences attributed to family income; supporting high income students from Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz University students’ perspective.
