Dialogue and tolerance constitute an authentic value in the democratic culture.

The promotion of the dialogue language, tolerance and accepting the other shows how enriched the culture of communities is and indicates their human, social and cultural authenticity.

Dialogue and tolerance means openness to others and respecting the freedoms of thoughts and faiths.

Individuals have the right to uphold their views and faiths.

Therefore, we chose the topic (Dialogue and Tolerance- Intellectual and Doctrinal Approach) in order to shed a light on the meanings of dialogue and Tolerance in the universal thought in general, and in the Islamic thought, in particular.

We also addressed their roles in finding out an intellectual and doctrinal approach that can help achieve proximity among various faiths and religions in favour of humanity and providing peaceful co-existence among human beings all over the world.

This will be discussed within two chapters following an introduction and ended with a conclusion.

Chapter One considers tolerance in Islam and other related topics, while the second discusses its position in the Islamic civilization and its moral, intellectual and philosophical horizons.
