Abstract EN

The research consists of four chapters; the first, the methodological framework, includes the problem which lies in the following enquiry: How is the Freudian-self transformed in the mono-dramatic character and weather the dramatic performance is able to encompass all the transformations the Freudian-self is subjected to.

The importance lies in the fact that the research focuses on the concept of the self according to Freud in the mono-dramatic character.

The research aims at exposing the Freudian-self transformations.

The limits are restricted to the Freudian-self transformation in Sami Al-Hasnawi as a sample (2005-2015).

The chapter ends with basic terminologies and the procedural definition.

The second chapter, the theoretical framework, includes two sections; the first is concerned with the concept of the self psychologically: first, the Freudian-self, second, the self according to the psychologists.

The second section involves the transformations of the character in the mono-dramatic performance.

The chapter ends with the indications which the theoretical framework has come up with.

The third chapter contains the procedures which involve the sample that is the play (Whether – or) written by Abdel Kareem Al-Sudani and edited and directed by Sami Al-Hasnawi.

Concerning the methodology of the research, the researcher has adopted the analytical method (content analysis) to analyze the sample.

As far as the tool is concerned, the researcher depends on the indications of the theoretical framework.

The fourth chapter involves the results, the conclusions, and the bibliography.
