Abstract EN

This article explores the powerful and mysterious potential of sport as it relates to politics and international relations in general, and to public diplomacy in particular.

It also highlights the distinctive and often influential role of international sports organizations, along with state governments and some other actors, in order to achieve value, commercial, or political gain.

This study concluded that sport is a peaceful tool for rapprochement, which allows the harmonious development of relations between nations, and seeks to combat racism and establish peace on earth.

However, on the other hand, they are employed by political regimes, each according to its nature, "totalitarian or democratic", in order to achieve diplomatic gains, or to gain lost legitimacy.
