New technological means have achieved impressive successes in a short period of time.

This success is linked to the great variety of their uses both individually and collectively among all social groups.

The mobile phone is one of these means.

Its use as a communication and photographing device has given it a special status among young people.

And with all the development that modern families have witnessed, the social function of photography has evolved into a means companies all social occasions.

People record events into photographs and videos to capture memories of real events and share them with friends and family on social media, especially those events which describe their activities and express their identities on the path of individuality and autonomy.

Digitalization has helped in storing events immediately as photographs that become a reference and evidence on belonging to something in the past that fade away but can still be lived again through photographs.

A captured event is a thrill that was hidden in the past to be lived again in the future.

And in spite of some technical inconveniences compared to the digital camera, users have a given perspective that shows the rationality of their use.

This article is a translation of a research work carried by Corinne Martin, a professor and researcher in media and communication sciences.

It is considered as a significant scientific contribution to the sociology of using new technological means in modern society.
