The article, Narrative Identity Formation in Bab Alshamsof Al-Yass Al-Khuri, presents a problematic issue considered ascontroversial in most works of the French philosopher Paul Ricoeur.

This term is considered as a bridge between history, narrativeand time.

It was identified with the narrative texts in light of thenarrative forms.

We choose Bab Alshams, the door of the sun" by novelistElias Khoury to test the possibility of achieving such a marvelousnovel that changes the concept of narrativity, explaining how theidentity of the story can be erected, that is to say, the identity ofthe characters, through the plots, then the individual and collectiveidentity of the novel in focus.
