Thus, faced with the desire of the authorities to ensure confidence in the banking sector, which faces the possibility of sudden financial crises that may affect depositors' rights, the deposit insurance system has been conceived as a new mechanism unknown in the general rules, aimed at ensuring special protection of depositors' funds from the risks to which the bank may be exposed and putting it in a stop-payment position, by insuring compensation, on the basis of the mandatory payment of annual contributions estimated by banks.
