Abstract EN

The study aimed to know the characteristics of the social program of the Islamic social movement in Jordan through studying the national project to marry mature people and its role in addressing the phenomenon of spinsterhood.

To achieve the goals of the study, the qualitative approach was used in conducting this field exploratory study, reviewing the official documents and records of the Alurwah Alwuthqa Association implementing the project, and conducting direct observation with participation, and in-depth open interviews were conducted with both the director of the association and one of the first founders.

The study was conducted between 9/15/2019-10/10/2019.

The study concluded a set of results, the most prominent of which are: the ability of the program to recognize the social reality of the Jordanian society and deal with it effectively, and inclusiveness through work in the areas of public social policies, namely health, housing, education, work and social protection; it provided 244 apartments for the poor people, renovated 170 unhealthy homes, and married 730 young men and women over the age of 27 for females and 31 for males.

Demonstrate the ability to deal with Jordan's two main challenges: providing funding while avoiding conditional funding, and balancing the relationship with the government.

Implementation of advanced work strategies such as the local and self-financing strategy and the late socialization strategy.

It made recommendations, the most important of which is forming a coalition of national civil society organizations compatible with the general principles and common principles in national social work, to activate its role to contribute and real participation in sustainable social development processes in Jordan
