Abstract EN

The present study aimed to evaluate the instructional practices of math's teachers in light of requirements for developing intellectual dimensions of mathematical proficiency in middle school students In Al-Taif Governorate.

The study followed the descriptive survey method.

The study sample consisted of (32) mathematics teachers selected in the cluster random sampling.

To achieve the objective of the study, an observation card was constructed consisting of (29) instructional practice spread over the intellectual dimensions of mathematical proficiency (conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, strategic competence, adaptive reasoning).

The results of the study found that instructional practices in light of the requirements for developing conceptual understanding, strategic competence, and adaptive reasoning came with a low rating, while the procedural fluency was rated average, the study also found that the teaching practices in light of the dimensions as a whole came at a low rating.
