Abstract EN

In the light of the great acceleration and increased competition witnessed by private colleges today, including private colleges in the city of Kirkuk, the colleges are increasingly trying to find out how they can create a competitive advantage through which they achieve excellence over their competitors through excellence in their performance.

Therefore, the study aimed to know the impact of information technology on improving performance and the role of soft skills as a mediating variable in private colleges in the city of Kirkuk.

This study included (5) private colleges in the city of Kirkuk.

The questionnaire was developed and data were collected from different sources, and the information was analyzed through a set of statistical methods such as the Alpha Cronbach test, descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, normal distribution data test, and multiple regression analysis.

The results of the study showed that the IT practitioner has a high impact on improving the performance in the private colleges of the city of Kirkuk, and that soft skills mediate the relationship between information technology and improving performance in private colleges in the city of Kirkuk.

The study also recommended taking into consideration the new methods and tools in the field of information technology for the organization to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage whether at the local or international private colleges’ level.
