This paper investigates the role of linguistics in teaching translation and how it changed the vision on translation pedagogy.
For this purpose, we attempt to answer the following questions: what is the nature of relation between these two disciplines? And how does linguistics contribute to the translator’s training?

Cet article a pour but d’étudier l’importance de la linguistique dans la traduction, ce qui a mené les théoriciens à changer leur vision pédagogique vis-à-vis la traduction.
Pour cela, on a essayé de trouver des réponses à la problématique principale: quelle est la nature de la relation entre les deux disciplines? Comment la linguistique peut contribuer à la formation du traducteur?
