Abstract EN

Objective : Our purpose was to determine if there was a real association between hepatitis C virus infection and chronic urticaria in a group of our patients.

Methods : Seventy-five patients with chronic urticaria and a control population were tested for the presence of antibody to hepatitis C virus.

Results : All of the seventy-five patients with chronic urticaria showed negative results for anti-hepatitis C virus, whereas 46 of the 1723 control population showed positive results for anti- hepatitis C virus (2.7 %) Conclusion : This study revealed that there was no increased incidence of hepatitis C virus infection among patients with chronic urticaria.
