Abstract EN

The core relationship between the social dimension of language competence and the individual idiosyncratic dimension of speech performance reflects, objectively speaking, two linguistically overlapping phenomena: consistency and change.

Consistency reflects the social background of the decisions of the language system, whereas change refers to the change of the individual background according to speech requirements.

The issue of rhetoric accordingly can be tackled through these two aforementioned levels, as whether it is a relatively fixed linguistic state, or a variable state which is relatively subject to change.

In light of this controversy, its nature will be determined both as a concept and as a procedure.

Hence, the language course of Arabic here would be the most adequate cognitive context for this study both objectively and methodically speaking.
