Abstract EN

In order to achieve this goal, the researchers used the descriptive method "survey method" on a random sample of (400) students of the third grade secondary school in secondary schools in Menia governorate in the academic year (2017 AD / 2018 AD) educational departments (Magaghah, Bani Mazar, Minya, Mallawi).

The researchers designed and prepared a questionnaire to measure the motives of practicing sport recreational activities among secondary school students in Menia Governorate.

The questionnaire was applied to the sample during the period from 3/3/2018 to 26/4/2018.

The most important results were that there was a consensus in the research sample that the motives for the exercise of sports recreation activities to some extent, where the psychological motivation was the highest response rate while the lowest response rate in the axis of "motor and physical motivation." The researchers are recommended to recognize the reality of the motives of the practice of recreational sports activities among secondary school students, and to raise awareness of the importance of sport in secondary school students and their families and the society and organize sports tournaments among different educational institutions.
