Abstract EN

The present study is an investigation of affixation in English and Kurdish.

It conducts a contrastive study of affixation in English and Northeren Kurmanji Kurdish with the aim of finding the similarities and differences between them.

After describing and comparing affixation in both languages, the final finding of the study is that affixation is a common process in English which is done by using different types of affixes.

Kurdish is concerned with different types of bound morphemes without paying attention to the process of affixation and the created words from affixes though both languages have the same ways of classifying affixes.
