Abstract EN

This study adopting an ethnographic methodology tries to understand the use of social networking sites, especially "Facebook" as an act of social communication with the monitoring of its various habits and patterns within the Algerian "family construction", which has known many transformations and social changes, affected jobs and roles, and reflected on values and representations, and because women are considered The axis of transformation and the pillar of change, the study focused on a causial sample of its type? Composed of 21 individuals (female) from the city of Laghouat to answer the following questions: -How does the (Algerian) family deal with its cultural and social peculiarities with the new media, especially social media? -How are family relationships determined in light of the use of social media (Facebook)? - Does the use of social networking sites create new forms of family communication? The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are: - Social networking sites have become a sign of development and modernity, as they have become an essential member in the lives of individuals and groups of different ages, roles and sexes.

The severity of its impact varies according to the nature of many sociocultural variables.

- That social networking sites lost the "social" character, made the individual live in isolation and alienation, and destroyed human contact.
