Russia is considered one of the biggest countries in the world that produce and export energy due to its considerable importance and weight on the local and international energy market that gave it international position and influence that ranked it in the list of the most influencing countries in the international power balance.

On this basis, it has formulated various energy strategies starting from 2003.

The strategies are updated each 5 years by Doma Council in Russia starting from Putin's recognition of the importance of energy as a geo-political tool in implementing the aims of the Russian external policy.

Therefore, this study aims at tackling the ability of Russia to implement its 3rd energy strategy in reality for 2035 especially in front the current international variables especially the negative effects of Covid- 19 on the international energy market and its repercussions on the Russian economy.

Moreover, the study sheds light on the energy performance of Russia especially what concerns the Russian ability to adapt with those negative repercussions of the pandemic through achieving its underlined objectives in the energy strategy of 2035.
