Abstract EN
Technology has emerged as a useful tool in second language teaching, yet its role in the classroom is a debatable issue amongst educators.
This paper reports on the findings of our study investigating whether there are differences between novice and experienced native-English-speaking ESL teachers working in the United States in terms of their perceptions on using technology in their language teaching.
Data were collected using an online questionnaire consisting of 35 Likert scale and open-ended questions.
Results showed that there were statistically significant differences between novice and experienced teachers as well as between age groups on 5 out of 35 items.
The results of this study shed light on the differences between various groups of ESL teachers who chose to implement or avoid technology in their teaching.
The implications of this study can influence the development of teacher training on incorporating technology into language teaching.
