Throughout the ages, translation has great importance, as one of the most important means of civilizational and cultural communication and exchange between nations, thus no one can deny the basic and effective role of translation in transferring intellectual heritage between nations, and its impact on the growth of human knowledge throughout history.

In the Islamic civilization, translation, constituted one of the most essential criteria that presented the extent of the cultural and scientific progress of the Islamic State that shows to what extent Muslims are aware of the need to benefit from human heritage in various fields.

Literary translation, as a specific kind of translation, appeared in Sicily and Andalusia during the 12th - 13th centuries AD, mentioning that most translated literature in these two countries was mostly related to poetry and story like: Kalila and Dimna, a Thousand and One Nights, Sinbad, and Hayy ibin Yaqdhan.

These stories which had a clear impact on European literature.
