Abstract EN

Pop psychology is one of the controversial fields in psychology that has quickly spread around the world due to the popularized style of the authors on the one hand, and to translation on the other hand.

Despite the broad generalizations in pop psychology, in fact, it contains some pure psychological terms that we attempted, through this research, to explain their meanings in pop psychological context as well as their methods of translation into Arabic.

The research contains a theoretical part in which we exposed the definition of pop psychology, the characteristics of pop psychological texts and psychological terminology.

Then comes the empirical part that presents the corpus together with an analysis of samples that answer the problematic.

We concluded that the translator deals with terms as words that are part of the standar language and translates them according to his personal style, which led him to face the problem of terminology chaos.

He deals with the text as if it is under a literary genre, and thus the dealing was relatively not scientific.
