Islamic painting is one of the most prominent arts that Muslims were interested in, especially in the field of decorating books and what is related to science that Islam has urged.

It is related to the art of miniature, which a group of Algerian artists excelled in practicing during the French occupation, such as the Rasim brothers, trying through this to preserve the identity Islamism, and the attempt to confront the spread of Western art schools.

After independence, their students emerged, like Hashemi Amer, who distinguished his approach to a new feature in miniature, which is the opening of the frame without prejudice to the historical, social and cultural importance of miniature art and its role in the development of the art of Islamic photography in Algeria.
