Abstract EN

The current study aimed to recognizing the effectiveness of the academic integration of the mentally handicapped on their social skills, and to discover whether there were differences in the study variables between students with mild mental retardation in integrated and non integrated educational settings, To achieve this, a sample of 48 male and female students was chosen, including 24 non integrated and 24 integrated students.

The study revealed that there were no statistically significant differences between the groups of students integrated and non integrated in the dimensions of personal skills and the cooperat skills of scale, and also that there were statistically significant differences in the dimension of social interaction and in the scale as a whole.
