Abstract EN
This paper focuses on immortality، which is the ultimate target of most mankind.
The paper tackles three different poets who celebrate immortality in three selected poems, namely; The Epic o/Gilgameshy (400 B.C) Milton’s Lycidas (1634) and Tennyson’s In Memoriam (1850).
In these poems the poets try to seek immortality as they have lost three dear friends, Enkidu, Edward King and Henry Hallam.
As a result of this loss, they explore the meaning of life and attempt to find a resort for themselves and for their friends.
The three poets express their fear of death through which they create their own world in terms of achieving various beneficial deeds in order to immortalize themselves as well as their friends.
