Abstract EN

We try through this paper, to make an approach between the old Arab poetry and the rhetoric argumentative theory, we chose the Mu'allaqat of Zuhair Ibn Abi Salma to seek the argumentative techniques adopted by the poet in his speech in order to achieve persuasion.

The methodology of the study requires that we devote a theoretical part in which we explain the most important argumentative techniques as defined by Perelman (semi-logical arguments, fact-based arguments, and reality-based arguments), and a practical part in which we perform the argumentative analysis of Zuhair Mu'allaqat, so what are the argumentative techniques adopted by the poet it his poem?
