This study aims to analyze the extent to which Wagner's law matches government expenditure in Algeria during the period 1967-2018, by using five formulas, through studying the causal relationship between the variables by using the method of co- integration and the causality test of Granger.

This study revealed that the time series of the concerned variables were stable at the first difference, and there was a co-integration relationship between economic growth and government expenditure in only the fourth and fifth law's formulas.

The Granger Causality Test also showed that there was a causal relationship in one direction from economic growth to government expenditure in the fifth formula only, which is the Musgrave formula.

The results showed as well that the equilibrium relationship is in the long run, which is compatible with Wagner's law.
