The book, Al-Minhaaj, which is an approved source for teaching and Fatwaa has received a lot of attention and explanations (lengthy and brief).

The importance of the subject stems from the supremacy of the book “Minhaj al-Talibin” in the Shafi’i school of thought.

Because what is approved in the doctrine is what the two sheikhs – Imam al-Nawawi and Imam al-Rafi’i (may God have mercy on them) agreed upon.

The book,Al-Mihaal, is one of Al-Nawawi’s famous books and a reliable source in in case of any dispute that would emerge between the two great scholars Al-Imam Al-Nawawi and Al-Imam Al-Rafi’i.

The researcher has chosen the weighted issues whose counterparts are approved by Al- Imam Al-Nawawi.

Among the most important reasons that made the researcher choose this topic are: 1.

Knowing what the Shafi’i jurists disagreed upon and what is most weighted for them.

2.

Knowing what the Shafi’is agreed upon with the jurists of other schools of thought, and what they disagreed upon in matters of purification.

3.

The Shafi’i Doctrine is the most prevalent which comes second to the Hanafi’s in Iraq and the countries of the Islamic world, except in rare cases.

4.

contributing to the service of traditional Islamic Fiqh, even if it is a small part and not detailed information.

The researcher has followed an inductive, overall, comparative, and weighing approach, so I collected the issues and compared them and showed what appeared to Imam Al-Nawawi to be the most likely.
