Praise be to Allah, Sustainer of the worlds; may peace and blessings of Allah be upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his family and companions.

Backbiting is an ill of the tongue, an ill that when a man gets used to it, it leads him to hypocrisy and to stray away from belief and this illness becomes the destructor of one’s belief unless they repent.

Although backbiting is forbidden by the Shari’ah Laws, there are few situations where backbiting is permitted that religion has set and limited and they are the core of this research.

This research is presented with an introduction and three sections and conclusion.

The first section is about the concept of backbiting, the second section is about the concepts related to backbiting, and the third section is about the situations in which backbiting is permitted with the legitimate proof.
