This doctoral research aims at the mentalization process in adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis, and to analyze the contribution of intrapsychic factors by retaining the factor of the quality of mentalization, and its link with the holding of the patient's body.
This study was carried out on 15 cases of polyarthritic adults aged between 25 and 60 years old, encountered in rheumatology doctors who have liberal function located in the city center of Bejaia (Algeria).
This research work, is part of a psychosomatic referential framework of psychanalytic orientation Indeed, we want to compare between the polyarthritis whose mental functioning belongs to the well-mentalized neurotic mode, and those whose functioning derives from the badly mentalized mode, as well as the neurotic ones with uncertain mentalization, then to study the influence of these different modes of functioning on the course of the disease, namely the scalability or reversibility of the disease.

Cette recherche doctorale, vise à cerner le fonctionnement mental des personnes atteintes de polyarthrite rhumatoïde à partir de leurs productions au Rorschach et au TAT, comme elle vise également de faire ressortir les indices de capacités ou de failles de mentalisation et leurs influences sur l'évolutivité et la réversibilité de la maladie, ainsi que sur le niveau de la tenue du corps.
Cette étude a été menée auprès de 15 cas de polyarthritiques âgés entre 25 et 60 ans.
Elle s'inscrit dans un cadre psychosomatique.
Cette recherche adoptant la méthode de l'étude de cas, a pu répartir les sujets en trois catégories, à savoir, un groupe de patients ayant une bonne mentalisation constitué de 02 cas, chez lesquels on obtient une bonne tenue du corps.
Un groupe ayant une mauvaise mentalisation contenant 08 cas dont on observe une mauvaise tenue du corps, et enfin un troisième groupe de 06 cas dont la mentalisation est incertaine présentant une tenue du corps relativement liée aux fluctuations de leur fonctionnement mental étant dépendant de l'apport de leur environnement.
