This study aims to clarify the reality of policies towards foreign direct investment in Algeria and evaluate its role in attracting foreign direct investment.
We have shown that investment policies in Algeria have evolved considerably from devoting the principle of freedom of investment to a restrictive protectionist policy, More restrictive FDI investment policies were adopted, the most important being the requirement of partnership by a local majority.
