The International Court for the Marines Law is the judicial body that must be resorted to resolve disputes related to the interpretation or application of the provisions of this convention, and the Court operates in accordance with its statute contained in annex VI, part fifteen, and Section Five, Part XI of the United Nations Convention on the Law of marines.

The court began its work in 1996, despite the signing of the United Nations Convention on the Law of Marines was in 1982, due to lack of entry into force until 1994, it should be noted that the headquarters of the International court for the Law of Marines is in the city of Hamburg in Germany and may hold its sessions in any place it deems appropriate.
