Abstract EN
This paper investigates the impact of both trade openness and economic freedom on economic growth using data from 4 selected North African countries over the period of 2000 to 2018.
The study involves two stages of analysis.
The results of panel data analysis reveal that trade openness is positively and significantly correlated with economic growth; whereas it is found that economic freedom has a negative significant impact on economic growth.
However both economic freedom and trade openness have a positive impact on economic growth.
The investigation into the effect of trade openness on economic freedom resulted in negative significant relationship.
Thus economic freedom does matter for economic growth.
