Abstract EN

The Algerian legislator has made several amendments to the Traffic Code to deal with the phenomenon of the continuous increase in crimes of unintentional homicide or unintentional injury; as the said code is an important tool in this struggle.

The Traffic Code enhances, each time, penalties for these offenses in certain cases, in particular in the event of driving offenses, with the aim of dissuading offenders, on the one hand, and with the aim of to achieve deterrence for crimes of unintentional homicide or unintentional injury, on the other hand; although statistics indicate fluctuations in the achievement of these objectives.
