Abstract EN

This article examines both security and political challenges Facing the African Union in resolving disputes in Africa, namely the large number and diversity of armed conflicts in Africa; destruction and serious violations of human rights caused by military coups; and the weak political Will of African leaders.

In addition to the challenges mentioned above, financial challenges such as a lack of financial capacity, and other obstacles related to the institutions of the African Union itself, may restrict its contribution to dispute settlement.
