Abstract EN

This study aims to analyze the reality of Algeria's generalized government support policy, which appears in the item of management expenditures under the name of government support and social transformations, where it represents more than 20% of budget expenditures, and about 8% of Gross Domestic Product.

In the light of high support costs, it has become difficult to continue financing the high cost of its various programs, especially in light of the difficult financial situation in the Algerian economy, as well as the benefit from the support to both; the rich and the poor.

As a result of this and other reasons, there is a greater need to demand a review regarding the support system by reforming it through moving towards the targeted support system that allows the targeting of its beneficiaries, relying on various indicators and mechanisms that help, such as the income index, geographical targeting mechanisms, and the mechanism for involving civil society.
