A metaphor is the pillar of deviation, and it is originally a figure of speech whose concept went through a long history before settling on a specific definition.

In fact, the metaphor was not only mentioned by the Arab rhetoricians, but also by Western critics, including John Cohen, who considered it a deviation.

For him, the metaphor is one of the artistic images in which deviation is determined, and it has been known to many Westerners, from Aristotle to today's critics, with a special view.

The following study aims to uncover the aesthetics that metaphorical deviation achieves in the Algerian poetic text of the poet Ashour Fani, considering the metaphor as a feature of the poetic language; because of the ambiguity it gives to the poetic discourse that makes it accept many interpretations.

This study selected the Diwan of Zahrat Al-Dunya as a field of application, and adopted the method of statistics and analysis through which some results were reached, including: - There are many definitions of deviation, but most of them agree that deviation is a violation of the law of ordinary language and a departure from the norm.

- Metaphor is one of the most important substitution deviations.

- The Diwan of Zahrat al-Dunya is full of artistic images that is rich of metaphors and this is what gave it a special artistic beauty.
