This research attempts to investigate the lexical efforts of Ibn Al-Atheer Al-Jazari through his explanation of the strange hadith of the prophet, which is considered an early lexical activity in the history of the Arab lexicography.

This research is based on a methodological approach derived from the nature of the subject itself.

It is a lexical approach that depends on justification and analysis in the light of modern linguistics by highlighting the lexical aspects inherent in Ibn Al-Atheer's code of collection, arrangement and definition, and to demonstrate the importance of this code and its impact on linguistic dictionaries that came after with an objective and concise critical reading that includes the most important results.
