The character in the Arabic novel constituted an important pillar of the fictional work and narrative production, and the idea of the research is to extract the position of Arab critics in general and Iraqis in particular about the impact of the character in the narrative production, and it was limited to presenting critical opinions to critics (the second half of the twentieth century).

Arab novels have had the best luck at the creative level and at the level of critical studies that they dealt with, so attention should be drawn to the position of Iraqi critics on the personality element in fictional art.
