Abstract EN

This study focuses on the impact of some climate elements in the cultivation and production of the rice crop in the central and southern governorates of Iraq, with the aim of uncovering the reality of the geographical distribution of its cultivation and production.

Therefore, the research focused on studying the effect of some climatic elements - such as temperature, humidity, evaporation and wind - being one of the most influential climatic elements in its cultivation.

And its production.

It has been studied in six governorates of central and southern Iraq, namely (Babil, Najaf, Qadisiyah, Muthanna, Dhi Qar, Maysan) The results of the study showed that the cultivation of this crop is more widespread in the provinces of Najaf and Qadisiyah than in the rest of the central and southern governorates, whether in terms of area or production, and this is evidence of the availability of arable space as well as the availability of suitable conditions for its cultivation.

The research discussed the type of relationship between some climatic elements and productivity and showed a variation in the type of mathematical relationship when applying the correlation coefficient equation (Pearson).

The results of the study showed climatic fit in normal temperatures and relative humidity, so the relationship was positive (0.577 and 0.129) respectively, while The relationship of the rice yield was inversely related to wind velocity and the amount of evaporation (-0.242, -0.324), respectively.
