This paper aims to define the characteristics of Algerian women entrepreneurs’ social network and to highlight the contribution of their social capital in overcoming the traditional obstacles that women deals with.

the results of the questionnaire provided to a sample of 29 women entrepreneurs in the wilaya of Bouira have shown that Algerian woman relies heavily on strong ties which make her social network very limited.

women use their social capital to transcend bureaucratic and cultural constraints that prevent them to gain access to the financial and informational resources that are crucial for the business development.
