Megalithic and para-megalithic funerary monuments have been attributed to the protohistoric period despite its ambiguity in terms of cultural aspects and dating, in spite of their wide distribution and the large number of their necropolises in the geographical area of the Numidian dynasties and other ancient societies living in the northern saharan atlas during historical periods.

in this article, we will highlight one of the most important necropolises in the south of the Numidian capital Cirta, which has retained its old name "Sila".

this site still preserves the vestiges of a Numidian city and a group of vast burials scattered on the various hills of the region of Borma, of type tumulus, bazinas and vaults under rocks.

excavations have proven the existence of funerary accessories such as pottery and coins.

their earliest dating does not go beyond the 4th century BC.
