This study deals with the relationship of government spending with the quality of higher education in Algeria, for a period of 10 years, ranging from 2008 to 2017, and the study aims to determine the type and severity of the relationship between the two variables, and this study is of great importance based on the importance of the two variables represented in both government spending and the quality of Higher education and the extent of their impact on the course of the country as a whole, and through simple linear regression analysis of the data obtained for the study period, for each of the government spending expressed by the value of the budgets allocated to the Ministry of Higher Education within the financial laws for the years of study, and the quality of higher education expressed by the number of published and listed research papers In the databases and networks of science by Algerian universities during the study period and the variable number of patents registered in Algeria, and through the study we found the following: - The principles of government spending explain an amount (82.
