Standardization is a recent phenomenon that various governments are interested in, as an important base for the development of industries and various service activities.

This interest has emerged through building national standardization systems and the continuous work to develop them in order to be compatible with the developments of international standardization.

This research aims to introduce the Algerian standardization system, its various stages of development, its mechanism of action, and the fields of change pursued by the government, which reflects the growing interest in the field of quality and standardization that accompanied programs to support and upgrade the competitiveness of Algerian economic institutions.
